Another Scala book

David Pollak just announced that he is writing a Scala book:

I am very excited to announce that I am writing Beginning Scala and it will be published by APress.

I'm sure it will be excellent. I'm suprised, though, that APress wasn't more interested in his first idea of a book specifically about Lift.

Great Christmas reading

The Scala book is now out. Bill wrote a great article about the process:

It's been a long two years, filled with much toil and struggle, but at last we can hold the physical book in our hands.

The ebook is available at Artima. The paper book is available at Artima, at Amazon, and wherever computer books are sold.

The best form of flattery

I applaud the Pragmatic Programmers for their fine choice of topic for one of their upcoming books:
